Level 1 Sleep Study (Polysomnography)
A Level 1 sleep study, or polysomnography, is a comprehensive overnight sleep testing procedure conducted at our sleep clinic. Under the supervision of experienced sleep technologists, an array of sensors monitors various physiological activities, including brain waves, heart rate, and breathing patterns.
*Purpose*
The primary objective of a Level 1 sleep study is to accurately diagnose and detect sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea. This study provides a detailed analysis of sleep architecture by monitoring:
- EEG (brain activity)
- ECG (heart activity)
- EMG (muscle activity)
- EOG (eye movement)
- PLM (periodic limb movement)
- Respiratory patterns
- Cardiovascular activity
- Neurologic parameters
*Titration Study*
This study also includes a titration study to determine the optimal treatment settings.
*Why Choose a Level 1 Sleep Study?*
Unlike other levels of sleep studies, a Level 1 study is always conducted in a sleep lab, ensuring accurate and reliable results. Our sleep clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by experienced sleep technologists to provide you with a comprehensive sleep evaluation.
Level 2 Sleep Study (Polysomnography)
A Level 2 sleep study, also known as polysomnography, offers flexibility in terms of location. It can be conducted in the comfort of your own home, or in some cases, in a sleep lab or hospital setting.

*Comprehensive Monitoring*
In addition to tracking breathing activity, oxygen levels, and heart rate, a Level 2 sleep study also monitors:
- Brain activity
- Muscle activity
- Leg and body movement
This comprehensive monitoring enables the detection of:
- Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD)
- Sleep quality and duration
*Advantages of a Level 2 Sleep Study*
The added monitoring capabilities of a Level 2 sleep study make it a more sensitive test compared to other levels. This allows for a more in-depth analysis of sleep patterns, providing valuable insights into sleep quality and potential sleep disorders.
Level 3 Sleep Study (Home Sleep Apnea Test - HSAT)
Conduct your sleep study from the comfort of your own home with our Level 3 sleep study, also known as a Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT). This convenient testing option eliminates the need for an overnight stay at a sleep lab or hospital.

Conduct your sleep study from the comfort of your own home with our Level 3 sleep study, also known as a Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT). This convenient testing option eliminates the need for an overnight stay at a sleep lab or hospital.
What to Expect
1. *Sleep Study Kit*: Use our provided sleep study kit to record your breathing activity, oxygen levels, and heart rate throughout the night.
2. *Snoring and Airflow Analysis*: Our test evaluates your snoring patterns and airflow to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea.
Benefits of a Level 3 Sleep Study
- Convenience: Conduct the test in the comfort of your own home
- Accurate diagnosis: Receive a reliable diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea.
CPAP Therapy (Continuous positive airway pressure)
CPAP therapy stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. It involves using a machine that delivers a constant stream of air pressure through a mask you wear over your nose and/or mouth while you sleep. This air pressure helps keep your airways open, preventing snoring and sleep apnea. It's like a gentle, invisible wind that keeps your breathing steady and improves your sleep quality.
BIPAP Therapy (Bilevel positive airway pressure) non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy
BiPAP machines, also known as Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NPPV), have several uses:
Oxygen Concentrator Therapy (Home Oxygen)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Oxygen concentrators take in atmospheric air, remove the nitrogen and collect pure oxygen for you to breathe. First, it sucks in the atmospheric air through an air filter and forces it through an air compressor. The compressor pressurizes the air — think of it like blowing air into a balloon.
